Airbnb refund policy bad experience6/14/2023 And after being denied a full refund, I'm starting to wonder AITA? I can't believe that the airbnb refund policy, where if there is a misleading listing and you contact within 72 hours, isn't valid for stays longer than 28 days, but that's the word from CS. Its all up to the host.ĪITA for wanting to post a 1 star review? I don't want to spread hate, but I feel its important other guests are warned before booking. Host denies.Īirbnb support offers no help, claiming that since my stay is 28 days+ the normal refund policy of 72 hours to report a travel issue doesn't apply? And they cant help anyway since the stay is complete. I'm requesting a full, or substantially more fair refund. I don't think anything has been done in good faith. I bluntly tell the host that the original refund amount we agreed upon was in good faith. Host agrees to provide me the partial, significantly reduced refund, I feel like that's BS since its been weeks now. I try to get airbnb to cancel since I have pending dispute. A week later host sends me refund in a lesser amount than we agreed upon. I keep asking him to follow through with agreement, host lets it expire. Host pretends not to not see resolution payment request. Host agrees but doesn't want to get penalized by cancelation, I agree to amend dates in exchange for resolution payment. Work out a good faith deal with the host to get a partial refund (only 60% refund for 6 out of 28 days) so we can resolve quickly. Contact Airbnb support: no response for 4 days. No reviews but I need a place to sleep - booking very inaccurate, says there are lots of features that aren't there (pool, hot tub, etc.). Host relocates me to his other unit that has never been booked (seems like he just purchased and needed to renovate, but didnt know at the time). TLDR: Monthly booking in Istanbul, first unit is in a construction zone with apartment complex being demolished next door.
